23 – Introduction to Imam Malik & His Muwatta | Mufti Ismail Moosa

This Ramaḍān intensive endeavours to present an overview of Imām Mālik’s life and his Muwaṭṭa, including a detailed study of the first few āḥadīth from it.

- How to calculate his birth year based on his سماع to another ṣahābī

- confirming date of birth to see if ittisāl in sanad or inqiṭā'

- Discussing his death date - which date is more reliable

- Description and merit of Al-‘A'raj (qāri and muḥaddith) - how did he get this name

- His teachers and students

- Greatest students of Abu Hurairah

- The word 'يحدثه' differing in other copies of the Muwaṭṭa, Bukhārī and Muslim
