10 – Introduction to Imām Mālik & His Muwaṭṭa | Mufti Ismail Moosa

This Ramaḍān intensive endeavours to present an overview of Imām Mālik’s life and his Muwaṭṭa, including a detailed study of the first few āḥadīth from it.

This session covers the following discussions:

- Who is ʿUmar ibn ʿAbdul ʿAzīz and his situation at the time of this incident

- Using other asānīd to determine which Ṣalāh ʿUmar bin ‘Abdul ‘Azīz delayed - i.e ‘Aṣr

- Using other asānīd to determine to which extent this ṣalāh was delayed - out of the mustaḥabb time, and a one-off occurrence

- Who is ʿUrwah ibn Zubair?

- ʿUrwah ibn Zubair relating to ʿUmar ibn ʿAbdul ‘Azīz that Mughīrah also delayed Aṣr whilst he was governor of Kūfā
